Multiagent-based training simulation

The ExpertCop software architecture is composed of a multiagent system, a geographical information system (GIS), a database and an interface. The agents active in the virtual environment are police teams and criminals.

The integrated pedagogical tool aids the police officer to understand decisions and consequences.

GIS and multiagent system

The GIS is responsible for generating, manipulating and updating a map of the respective city to be studied in a small scale. The most important component is the multiagent platform where police teams and criminals interact in a given environment .

The mission of the police teams is to patrol the areas, selected by the police officer, during the work period and work shifts scheduled for the team.

Graphical analysis tools allow to better understand the simulation scenarios.

The criminals are generated by a Criminal Manager. The criminals commit crimes depending on risk, police presence, public illumination and existence of escape routes.. Benefit of the crime and personality of the criminal also play a crucial role.
